Winter Blahs
I truly never want to wish time away. I try to live in the moment, blah, blah, blah. But man, it has been cold here the past week! There is no gardening to be had.

Everything in the garden is sleeping and quiet. I have to rely on my meager quota of house plants to give me my gardening fix. I am working on getting some more plants for the house, but even the garden centers around my home are closed and there isn’t much to be purchased.
I’ve had to dream about Spring and expanding and adding to my two perennial gardens. I have one at my home in New Jersey and one at our someday forever home in Vermont.
The planning is fun, don’t get me wrong, but there is nothing like buying fresh plants, or dividing existing ones, and just getting in there and digging in the DIRT that makes me so incredibly happy.
I’ve got a long list of things I would like to do, things that I will probably do, and things that when I mention them to my husband, he rolls his eyes, sighs, and barely manages to disguise his exasperation at my crazy ideas. I think I should do those things first, don’t you? 😊
In the meantime, I will keep reminding myself of this beautiful, accurate quote from Hal Borland.
“No winter lasts forever, no Spring skips its turn.”
